From the catalog:

Quinn lives in and is inspired by Philadelphia. Her art relates to her own family’s past and the overlooked history of the ground. If investigated, we can see the past by examining erosion – color, texture, and stability changes. Quinn explores the concept in her work by playing with pairings, relationship, change, and memory. She reuses and repurposes sections of previous studio experiments to create her layered works, which can both work together and separately. Each object holds a complete thought and quiet beauty in isolation or when grouped as a community of ideas coming together. Quinn’s work, like the pavement of Philadelphia, needs to be engaged with to understand and feel it. Just like a love that grows more intense as you get to know someone, these pieces require your attention, time, and open heart.
